Supporting Schools

Friends of the Lycée supports a variety of educational projects in London to improve the school environment and wellbeing of pupils.

From 2005 to 2018, Friends of the Lycée partnered with the Parent Association of the Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle and the APL Welfare Fund to organise the APL Appeal Campaign benefiting the pupils of the Lycée and its affiliated primary schools. Together we raised over £2.4 million allocated between Friends of the Lycée and the APL Welfare Fund. We have also collaborated with the Association des Anciens du Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle de Londres.

Since 2012, we have been supporting various projects benefiting other French and bilingual schools:

  • Renovation of the swimming pool in Paddington to enable pupils of the Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle and l’Ecole Bilingue to meet the requirements of their sports programme;
  • Early financial contribution towards the creation of the new Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill;
  • New playground equipment at l’Ecole Bilingue.
